Enterprise IT software offerings provider ASG Software Solutions has acquired data protection and backup management software provider Atempo.
With Atempo’s backup and archiving offerings, ASG can expand its ability to automate and simplify the management of complex IT environments to reduce risk and improve service delivery throughout the IT lifecycle.
The archiving technology is focused on the long term preservation of digital assets, storage resource optimisation and capacity planning, metadata management and ensuring e-discovery accessibility and meeting compliance requirements.
Atempo’s data protection software is a scalable offerings for heterogeneous environments with a data restore function. The software offers complete enterprise server data protection, including virtual machines, as well as protection for databases, laptops and desktop computers to ensure all organisation data is properly secured and preserved.
ASG president and chief executive officer Arthur Allen said by integrating Atempo’s technologies into ASG’s offerings, ASG are able to provide customers with a scalable, long-term data protection offering that works across any infrastructure and on any platform.
