Google is planning to launch Google Wallet in the UK in the first quarter of 2012.

This mobile payment system of the search engine company uses NFC (Near Field Communication) technology using the Google Nexus S.

Google is said to be in talks with retailers, distributors, and banks to be introduce contactless payments ahead of the 2012 Olympics to be held in London in July/August, according to French broadsheet Les Echoes.

Currently, Google Wallet is available in the US with the network operator Sprint. Following this, most of the smartphone makers there, excepting Apple, have started reportedly incorporating NFC in their sets.
