Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises Inc denied a report in the Atlanta Constitution that it is on the verge of forming a multibillion-dollar alliance with Southwestern Bell Corp: It is not true – we have no domestic alliance it said; the paper said Southwestern Bell would make a $1,000m-plus investment in Cox’s Cox Cable unit, the 6th-largest cable television firm in the US, with 1.7m subscribers.
