Defense Software & Systems Inc and National Semiconductor Corp now have definitive agreement for their joint venture under which Defense Software will acquire an 80.1% stake in NatSemi’s semiconductor manufacturing facility in Migdal Haemek, Isreal: the plant will be operated as a joint venture, with NatSemi retaining 19.9%; the agreement also calls for a transfer of NatSemi’s proprietary CMOS process technology to the joint venture and Sanford Kane, former vice-president of industry operations for IBM Corp’s General Technology division, has been named chairman and chief executive of the joint venture and also was named a vice-president of Defense Software.
