In the UK, Bull HN Information Systems Ltd, which has been helping police with their inquiries for several years now, has been awarded a UKP2.1m order from the Derbyshire Constabulary: two DPS 6000 model 632 GCOS 6 minicomputers running 150 terminals will initially support the force’s existing, but heavily overworked Bull mainframe-based command, control and crime information system: the force invited a sole bid from Bull on the grounds of urgency: the completed crime information service is scheduled to go live by January 1993.
