Eastman Kodak Co’s Videk Systems unit in Canandaigua, New York has signed with BioScan Inc to put its Optimas software on the Videk Image Acquisition hardware, to be marketed under the Videk name as the Harmony Group of Integrated Imaging Products: the Videk Image Acquisition hardware consists of a series of Optimas provides a means of analysing the images captured, as well as offering a programming language in which users can write custom functions; the products will be used in applications such as microscopy, medical diagnostic imaging, quality control, materials science, natural resource management, forensics and law enforcement; Videk and BioScan also intend to develop new products that meet the imaging needs of a broad base of users, lowering the cost and complexity of imaging systems through integration of individual components to create a more complete, ready-to-use product set.
