LIR Corp has competition for its portable Frame Relay software (CI No 1,772): Los Angeles-based Trillium Digital Systems Inc says it is shipping portable software that implements Frame Relay in source code form. It is claimed to implement the complete standard as defined by CCITT and ANSI as well as the industry consortium Frame Relay interface specification. It includes user and network sides of the standard so it can be used on switches and on customer premises equipment; all congestion control features; LMI and Annex D Local In-channel Signalling; and permanent virtual circuits, and is designed to be adapted as the standard evolves. Pricing starts at $6,000, depending on royalty arrangements.
