Commenting on the figures that it reported earlier this week (CI No 2,215) San Jose-based Conner Peripherals Inc warns that it expects difficulties in the third quarter, but not as bad as the second quarter, when it saw a loss of $58.8m: second quarter results were hurt by soft demand for some products, unparalleled price deterioration, and a transition from older, less profitable products, chairman and chief executive officer Finis Conner said; he sees these trends continuing, to a lesser degree through the third quarter, but that new products that are coming this year will keep the company competitive.
