IBM Corp has now launched its PS/1 386SX Pro models in the US for its IBM Distributor:VAR program, and says it has begun begin shipping them to two distributors, Ingram Micro Inc and Gates/FA Distribution Inc. The two distributors will sell the machines on to value-added remarketers that can add their own enhancements and offer support. The PS/1 386SX Pro models, N81 and N31, use a 20MHz 80386SX microprocessor and have 2Mb memory expandable to 16Mb, 14 colour video graphics array display with tilt-swivel base; 101-key board; three 16 AT-compatible expansion slots; and 80Mb disk in the N81, 129Mb in N31. The PS/1 386 SX Pro N81 is $1,950; N31, $2,150.
