The Open Software Foundation has been unable to find volunteers from within its ranks with either the will or the resources to undertake the Herculean task of putting together the various elements of its complicated Distributed Management Environment technology. Both Digital Equipment Corp and IBM Corp apparent ly turned down an invitation to host the work, so the Foundation has moved some of its Munich staffers over to Cambridge, Massachusetts, where a 10-strong team is currently working to integrate the component parts. The first snapshot of the Distributed Management Environment technology is expected to appear at an announcement early next quarter.
