BEA LICENSES UNISYS REPOSITORY FOR MIDDLEWARE

By CBR Staff Writer

As is the fashion, BEA Systems Inc is to offer an object-oriented repository based upon Unisys Corp’s URep universal repository for use with its middleware products, enabling customers to store information about applications that use the middleware in a central store. Unisys has previously claimed the object-oriented URep is technically more advanced that anything Microsoft, Oracle or Platinum Technology has. URep support both OMG Corba and Microsoft OLE object services. BEA offers OLTP, messaging, object request broker and other middleware.
