RF Link Technologies Inc of Torrance, California is shipping its Wireless PC@TV product that enables consumers to access the Internet on a TV using a wireless PC connection. RF Link has signed a distribution agreement with Vidam Communications Inc to market Vidam’s new Living Room Active software as part of Wireless PC@TV. The software brings a PC channel to the TV and runs on any Windows 95 or NT based system.The Vidam software works to make files written in HTML simpler, by making the fonts easier to read and improving the color, so they can be viewed more clearly on the television. Wireless PC@TV takes advantage of the 2.4GHz radio frequency. It uses RF Link’s WaveCom senders to transmit signals from the computer to a receiver at the television. The product is aimed at users who want to browse or play games using a wireless keyboard, but it has no mouse. In addition, users can print or download files directly onto the computer. Users who already have an Internet connection can access it through their television, without having to subscribe to another service. Wireless PC@TV comes with the WaveCom antennas, wireless keyboard, external plug in VGA to NTSC converter and infrared keyboard receiver.
