UK based broadband internet provider Virgin Media has launched its free Spotify deals, following the partnership with the Spotify music service earlier this year.

Existing users of Virgin Media in the UK will have free access to Spotify’s premium service for three months when they renew their contracts, while new users buying the Virgin’s 30Mbps or faster broadband package will get the same service for free for six months.

Using Spotify service, Virgin Media customers will be able to access millions of singles and albums via its web, mobile and TV services, as well as customers will access a range of exclusive content through a new ‘VM Music’ tab in the Spotify client.

Virgin Media said that related data charges for its customers using the offer will be waived off, and will allow customers who take up the deal to listen to an unlimited number of music tracks, on either their computer or mobile handsets.

Virgin Media executive director of digital entertainment Cindy Rose said the launch of Spotify on Virgin Media marks a significant milestone for digital entertainment and the way it is enjoyed by consumers.

"Bringing together Virgin Media services with brilliant entertainment such as Spotify is a core part of our ongoing strategy and we’re excited to be able to lead the way with such a great partnership," Rose said.

In order to access the Spotify service via TV, an app for the Virgin Media Tivo box will be launched in the next few weeks.
