AT&T Corp has decided to sell off its paging unit as part of continuing efforts to divest itself of low-growth operations not vital to its core telecommunications business, according to a report in the New York Times. The paper says executives said that a buyer has not yet been found and the company is looking for a price of around $450m. The paging unit is the ninth largest in America with 1.2 million customers but growth is limited as more users turn to mobile phones, especially now that they can also display text.
