Geotek Communications Inc, the Montvale, New Jersey wireless telecom company, is selling its 64% stake in Bogen Communications International, Inc for $18.5m in cash. Bogen, based in Ramsey, New Jersey, develops and manufactures telecommunications peripherals and sound processing equipment. Geotek says its long term business strategy is to focus on its core wireless activities. The transaction is expected to close shortly, but Geotek would not say who the buyer was. In August, Geotek reported a second-quarter loss of $41.1m on revenue of $30.9m (CI No 3,227). It claims to provide wireless services to 10,000 users across the US.
