West Chester, Pennsylvania-based Adage Inc has acquired the Bendix King mobile communications division of King Radio Corp from AlliedSignal Inc for an undisclosed cash sum. Adage, now a producer of wireless communications equipment, recycled paperboard and cold drawn steel, said the acquisition added a complementary line of two-way radio products to its existing communications products. Bendix/King had sales of over $25m last year and will be moved to Adage’s Relm Communications production facility in Melbourne, Florida. Relm makes two-way radios for commercial and agricultural uses, while the Bendix/King phones are principally sold into government and public safety.
