Compagnie des Machines Bull SA added six new DPX/20 variants of the IBM Corp RS/6000 – variants of the models just launched by IBM that use the new PowerPC 601 and Power2 microprocessors; it also extended its portfolio of distributed computing software integration tools: the new machines are the Model 155 compact desktop server, the Model 150S server and the Model 155W workstation based on 66MHz PowerPC 601 chips; it also has three models using the Power2 chip – the Model 680 and 690 deskside servers and Model 890 rack-mounted server; the 680 uses a 55.6MHz version of Power2, the 690 on a 66.6MHz version the 890 a 71.5MHz.
