Information and communications technology (ICT) offerings provider Huawei has said that OTE, a telecommunications provider in the Greek market, has transformed its softswitch based network to an IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) based Next Generation Network provided by Huawei in Greece.
The company siad that the launched IMS network, which covers all of the country including the capital city Athens, is based on Huawei’s IMS tool and enables OTE to provide not only traditional voice services but also enriched communication features.
The high-reliability is based on the geographic redundancy technology, so there is no single failure in the network, claimed Huawei.
The company added that the high-quality is based on the IP Voice Quality Enhancement technology, so the TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) alike voice experience is ensured; the high-efficiency is benefited from Huawei special operation and maintenance tools and Huawei unified platform.
The launched IMS network offers as a first phase SIP Trunking, IP Centrex and Unified Communication application for Enterprise market as well as VoBB (Voice over Broadband), Messaging and Self-Care Portal application for Residential market to over 500K users, said the company.
Huawei CEE & Nordic region Core Network president Dr. ZhangQin said OTE has an impressive subscriber base and IMS can form the basis for offering the advanced services that the end users require.
"Huawei is committed to support OTE in always launching the best services," ZhangQin added.
