Network communications offerings supplier PT has launched Xpress Telemarketer Guard (TMG) offering, a software feature that intercepts and diverts annoying telemarketing calls.

PT said the TMG is an easy-to-deploy, easy-to-use offering that automatically identifies calls from frequent mass callers, and offers options for handling each call. TMG can block the call, send the call to voice mail, or allow the call to proceed, depending on the subscriber’s preference.

With the TMG tool, subscribers can create a ‘reject list’ and an ‘allow list’ to permanently disallow specific telemarketers and allow selected telemarketers access to the subscriber respectively. TMG also gives the end-user superior control to that offered by the ‘Do Not Call Registry’, claimed PT. PT said the TMG lies in a ‘crowd sourced wisdom’ design methodology that treats the entire subscribed population as individual intelligent filters to identify telemarketers.

PT Products and Technology senior VP John Grana said the new offering provides service providers with revenue genrating services.

Grana said, "PT recognizes that a service provider’s competitive edge depends on top performance infrastructure and a suite of features that enable them to attract and retain a growing subscriber base,"

"We are dedicated to enhancing our Xpress portfolio of SIP-based services, in order to furnish carriers a rich suite of powerful solutions to build a wide variety of revenue generating services."

Along with Xpress Telemarketer Guard offering, the PT’s application portfolio includes: Xpress SIP Application Server; Xpress SIP-based Service Creation Environment; Xpress Calling Card; and Xpress Long Distance Cost Avoidance.
