Alcatel Business Systems SA, Alcatel NV’s business telephony specialist, says it will regroup its three distribution divisions, DSF Opus Alcatel, Telic Alcatel and GST Holding, as of January 1, 1993. The regrouping of the three divisions, which together employ 5,100 people, must first be approved by their management-labour committees. If approved, the new combined division, to be called Alcatel Business Networks, will be headquartered in Colombes, France at the existing site of DSF Opus Alcatel. A company statement says the constituents of the new division will continue to market their respective product lines, but under the single brand name Alcatel. Alcatel Business Systems employs 9,300 people in France, and it reported 1991 consolidated revenues equivalent to $1,810m.
