Super-ambitious Cap Gemini Sogeti SA has greatly expanded its presence in the US computer-related consultancy business with an agreement by its ultimate holding company, Sogeti SA, to acquire MAC Group Inc, Cambridge, Massachusetts for an undisclosed sum thought to be as much as $100m. Parts of MAC will be combined with other Sogeti consultancy acquisitions, notably United Research, a Morristown, New Jersey consultancy in which it bought a stake last year. Sogeti says that this is unlikely to be the end of its buying spree as the consultancy sector consolidates.
