AvePoint, a provider of governance offerings for Microsoft SharePoint has released the public beta of DocAve 6, the enterprise-class management platform for SharePoint governance.
The company said that DocAve 6 is a significant update to AvePoint’s management platform, designed to increase business productivity, reduce total cost of ownership, provide IT assurance, and enable security and compliance for enterprise content.
DocAve 6 extends the platform’s capabilities to unify management of on-premise, cloud, and hybrid SharePoint farms, including Office 365, said AvePoint.
The company also introduced Governance Automation, which leverages the capabilities of DocAve 6 to provide an efficient means for organisations to implement and enforce SharePoint governance policies, enabling automated, end-to-end service and information management.
The company said DocAve 6 makes it easy to deploy and migrate to SharePoint 2010, configure and administer SharePoint farms, optimise storage and performance, and ensure the integrity, security, and availability of content.
DocAve 6 also enables centralised or delegated management of SharePoint farms hosted on-premise, or in private or public clouds such as Office 365. DocAve 6 also manages development, testing, and production farms, and provides application lifecycle management tools to govern the deployment of solutions and components, said the company.
The company added that DocAve 6 is built entirely with Microsoft technologies and standards, including .NET, WCF, and Silverlight. DocAve 6 also provides administrators and developers both PowerShell cmdlets and APIs with which to customise, automate, and extend the platform’s rich capabilities.
