In the US, IBM yesterday cut prices on PS/2 Models 30, 55, 65 and 80. The base Model 30 falls 7.5% to $1,850; the 30Mb disk model 8% to $2,300; the 55 with 30Mb is off 14% at $3,000; with 60Mb it’s off 15% at $3,300; the laptop versions are cut by about 5%. The Model 65 is off 16% at $4,445 with 60Mb disk, 16.7% to $5,000 with 120Mb and 15% at $6,750 with 320Mb. The Model 80 is off 19.7% at $5,500 with 80Mb disk, 18.7% at $6,100 with 160Mb disk and 14.6% at $8,450 with 310Mb – all cuts being effective at once.
