GRiD Systems Corp has introduced the GRiD 1755, a 20MHz 80386SX-based notebook with a triple supertwist sidelit VGA display: the 6.7 lb computer comes with up to 8Mb of random access memory, a 60Mb or 80Mb hard drive, security password feature and a built-in fax and data modem; also, GRiD has introduced an external battery charger for its entire line of notebooks that enables users to work for up to six hours by using two 8 oz batteries; the screen, a triple supertwist sidelit VGA screen with 16 grey scales operates Windows applications, and it is claimed to be 25% brighter than the GRiD 1750 or 1720; the 1755 comes standard with a 20MHz 80386SX microprocessor, 2Mb of random access memory, a 60Mb hard disk drive, a systems diagnostics disk, MS-DOS 5.0 and an eight-ounce battery; options include an 80Mb hard disk drive, fax and data modem, up to 8Mb random access memory and external battery charger and case; available now, the GRiD 1755 costs $3,450 in the US in standard configuration or $3,950 with a fax and data modem.
