The structural weaknesses within the Siemens Data Systems side of the marriage are so threatening that much of the hubris that accompanied the creation of Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG is beginning to dissipate, and yesterday, Siemens AG shares fell DM17 to DM613 after Siemens Nixdorf said on the opening day of Hannover that it was no longer certain it could meet its target of sales of DM13,000m, equivalent to $8,300, this year.
