Milton Keynes-based Andest Communications has launched a version of its WorldPort 2496 facsimile and dats modem specifically designed for Toshiba Corp’s laptop computers; the modem employs the D-slot on Toshiba machines and enables users to send and receive messages at 9,600bps: incoming facsimile messages are automatically detected and can be stored on disk or printed out on Epson- or Hewlett-Packard LaserJet-compatible printers.
