Sausalito, California-based Autodesk Inc is clearly concerned that the world’s biggest repository of virtual reality skills appears to be in the UK, and is making a move to encourage North America to get on the pace: it has announced a Cyberspace Developer Kit Release 2 University Grant Programme, which will make Autodesk’s virtual reality development software available to as many as 50 colleges and universities at no charge – but the offer is confined to accredited colleges and universities in the US and Canada only; closing date for applications is February 15.
