PlentyOfFish.com has reportedly emerged as the most popular dating site in the UK for every month in the first half of 2011.
ThinkingClearly reports citing data from ComScore and Experian Hitwise, that PlentyOfFish.com was consistently ranked at the top going by visits on the site in the UK every month, for the first half of this year.
According to the report, ComScore ranked PlentyOfFish.com number one among all UK dating sites from January through June 2011. The dating site had an average of over 16 million total visits each month, said the report. Overall, PlentyOfFish.com’s traffic accounted for 40.10% of all UK-based Internet dating traffic, added the report.
In May, PlentyOfFish had 20.64 million total visits – 50% of the total 41,188 unique visitors to online dating sites in the UK for the month.
The report said that Experian Hitwise findings converges with the claim made by comScore. Hitwise indicates that worldwide, PlentyOfFish received over 90 million total visits during the period. The report also said that users spend an average of 20:54 minutes per session online at PlentyOfFish.
Plentyoffish director Kate Bilenki said, "Plentyoffish.com has been so popular because it is free to use, simple and it works and, with social stigma surrounding online dating virtually gone, most singles are turning to Internet dating services."
At present, PlentyOfFish.com boasts of having over 33 million registered users.
