Taiwanese Acer Group’s San Jose-based Acer America Corp will launch a new line of lightweight notebooks called AcerNote Light on Monday. Available in five configurations, AcerNote Light comes with a Pentium 100Mhz or 120Mhz processor with 810Mb to 1.0Gb disk and 8Mb or 16Mb memory, upgradable to 40Mb. They weigh 5.8 pounds and come with a 10.4 dual scan or active matrix TFT color display and built-in 3.5 floppy drive. Pricing starts at between $2,000 and $2,500.
