Apple Computer Inc rejected the request from Swiss company Quix Computerware AG for Mac ROMs to enable it to sell the software it has developed that enables Mac OS to run on PowerPC-based Power Personals from IBM Corp (CI No 2,723). Apple’s reluctance to embrace Quix simply doesn’t make sense, except as an example of Apple’s failure to commit to a serious Mac operating system licensing effort, said Macworld editor in chief Adrian Mello.
