Storage Technology Corp settled its differences with Unisys Corp and estimates a three-year deal under which Unisys will integrate and remarket its robotic tape libraries and 36-track tape subsystems to be worth $80m to $100m over the term. Separately, StorageTek said it had begun shipping commercial strength software for its Iceberg disk array and it looks to start getting money from it this quarter. It now has 30 Icebergs on test with customers, to rise to 40 in days. And its NearNet 7900 network storage manager now provides back-up support for Novell Inc NetWare: the facility is out now. The original version, out since November, provides data back-up and migration support for Unix servers and workstations.
