Talks on a digital television partnership between British Telecommunications Plc and British Sky Broadcasting Plc are at a fairly advanced stage, industry sources told Reuter. The two are said to be looking to subsidize the set-top decoders boxes needed for digital television to get the new system off the ground and into homes. British Telecom would provide the return channel for interactive television over the telephone network.
