Cognos Inc has got deployment versions of its Axiant Developers Workbench ready to go, which includes Impromptu and Powerplay plus a high level language engine. Axiant applications can be deployed on Windows, Unix, OSF/1 and OpenVMS. Version 2.0, due at the end of this year, will support Windows NT. Axiant accesses data in Oracle, Sybase, InterBase, and Watcom through Open Database Connectivity drivers of native application programming interfaces. It supports NetWare, Microsoft LAN Manager, DECnet and TCP/IP. Pricing starts at $3,000.
