Social networking site Facebook is reportedly planning to allow its users to place online music services on their home pages.

Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter, that the world’s largest social networking site could allow services including Spotify and Rdio on users’ home pages.

According to the report, Facebook will announce the music feature at its 22 September developers conference in San Francisco.

Facebook has introduced a number of changes in the past few days. The company killed its Deals services after four months of testing, but launched an online movie rental service in the UK.

Last month the site, with over 750 million users worldwide, tweaked its security and privacy settings to give users greater control over their content.

The company has also revealed that it would expand its new sharing option so that users could restrict people from seeing posts they want to share selectively, something Google had introduced with its ‘Circles’ feature in its social networking platform Google+.
