Demand for multimedia in the business environment is moving from mostly voice-based services to mostly visual services that also incorporate voice, James Day, vice-president of information networks, systems and applications at AT&T Corp’s Bell Laboratories told the conference. To illustrate, he cited video conferencing, to be available in the first quarter of 1995 as part of AT&T’s new WorldWorx services. Businesses will use the new technology to achieve a more personal level of interaction with customers than telephone, he said.
