Cray Research Inc claims that its Cray T3D system has achieved the highest performance ever reported for a massively parallel processing system on the complete set of eight National Aerodynamic Simulation Parallel Benchmark tests: on every test, the 256-processor T3D system posted the highest massively parallel processing system performance to date, and on some tests was as much as three times faster than the performance reported for the next-fastest 256-processor box, it said.
