Compagnie des Machines Bull SA’s loss in the first four months of this year was $170m less than in the same period of last year, chairman Jean-Marie Descarpentries said – to the end of April all activities improved their profits and reduced their losses, he told La Tribune Desfosses, and thanks to its action on non-wage costs and on growth the group has managed to cut its net loss; Descarpentries said he was convinced that a decline in the company’s turnover was not inevitable, adding that the first quarter trend, with sales up 20%, is continuing; if Bull achieves growth of 10% in its turnover at the end of 1994 I will be satisfied, he said, adding that he still expects to see a break-even result or even a profit this year.
