Apple Computer Inc’s Claris Corp has acquired Web page authoring technology from San Andreas Systems of Los Altos, California on undisclosed terms, and will launch it later this year as Claris Home Page. Previously known as Loma Prieta – which loosely translated means Black Pudding Ridge – the tool is a cross-platform application running on Windows 95, Windows NT and MacOS. The company is definitely looking at support for ActiveX in version following 1.0, which supports Java. It will ship at the end of the summer, following a public beta program starting this month at www.claris.com. No prices yet.
