NetManage Inc, San Jose, California, has launched an SNA Server 3.0 version of its HostLink software designed to offer a wider range of host access options for IBM sites. HostLink 6.0 is designed to link mainframe, midrange and personal computer systems through NetManage Chameleon HostLink, a 16-and 32-bit Windows connectivity package. It enables printing, file sharing, Web-to-host data access, and transaction processing between mainframe, AS/400 and personal computer systems over SNA networks. Additional features includes 3270 and 5250 connectivity, mainframe graphics, printer emulation, AS/400 SQL Transfer, Object Linking and Embedding 2.0 automation, Visual Basic for Applications scripting, and Internet and IntraNet connectivity options including the FTP and LPR/LPD protocols, electronic mail, and News Reader, which extends mainframe and AS/400 access.
