Dayton, Ohio-based Systran Corp has launched the latest version of its SCRAMNet Network real-time replicated shared memory system. SCRAMNet-LX Network is based on a new custom ASIC chip, which reduces the package from two 6U boards to a single 3 by 5 board, and is also now available with both co-axial cable and fibre optic media options. Memory modules upgradable to 8Mb are available. SCRAMNet-LX has a new burst+ mode which delivers 16.7Mbps throughput, the company claims. Separate interrupts have been implemented for status and memory interrupt events, and a new event counter/timer with global reset provides for self-diagnostics, network performance measurement, and synchronised global timer functions. SCRAMNet-LX is available now; prices start at $3,500 per node, depending on configuration.
