And, labouring on Labor Day, Digital Equipment Corp yesterday launched five new desktop personal computers designed to be especially easy to use under the Celebris name, and said that they are the first step in a major new product blitz this autumn. The name was chosen to make the machines more friendly to customers, and they will be modular for easy assembly; DEC plans to start putting personal computers into retail stores this autumn, and will add portable computers and servers to its line by December. There are five Celebris models, and prices start at $1,950 with 66MHz 80486, and $2,200 with a 60MHz Pentium.
