SuperComputers Inc has released PC on TV, a device designed to enable simultaneous display of a personal computer’s video output onto a television set. It is both NTSC and PAL system compatible. Anticipated market includes heavy multimedia presentation usage for software training, sales and corporate presentations, and any environment in which computer slide shows are used. PC on TV is a high-end flicker-free display mechanism that connects directly from a personal computer or notebook to a television, making transparencies and traditional slides unnecessary. The microphone that is included provides amplification of the speaker’s voice through the television’s sound system, plus the ability to capture the presentation on videotape. Inputs include VGA analogue input from the VGA port of a personal computer, and a microphone. Outputs include composite NTSC or PAL signal video output; Analog RGB video output; separate Y/C NTSC (PAL, S-Video) four-pin output; audio output; and VGA pass-through output to a VGA Monitor. It supports up to 640 by 480 with 16m colours. PC on TV is available immediately, at $360.
