Fujitsu Ltd has 22 new models of seven types in its FM V series of personal computers, including a 90Mhz Pentium-based model, the FM V-590DE, priced from the equivalent of $5,750, giving increased price-performance of two and a half times. The two top models, including a 66MHz Pentium-based model FMV-566DE, come standard with a Windows accelerator chip, the Weitek Corp Power 9100, in the personal computer I bus slot. Other 80486SX based models have improved price-performance of 22%, and all models support a CD-ROM and Windows Plug-and-Play technology. Fujitsu expects to sell 500,000 of the new models in the next two years.
