Proginet Corp last Friday announced its single password control technology will be included with the next version of Microsoft CorpsSNA server, set to ship the second half of the year. The New York-based company says its product will help users frustrated by the multiple passwords they need to access various server and host systems. Proginet says IBM is working on a similar technology that would involve OS/2, but claims its technology is a wider solution because it supports OS/390, AS/400 and all desktop operating systems that are integrated with Windows NT server security; Windows NT Workstation, Windows 95, Windows for Workgroups, Windows 3.x, MS-DOS, Macintosh and OS/2. Proginet, which designs products that integrate mainframes with LANs and NT. The technology entered beta testing this month. Prices for the host component will be announced in the second half of the year.
