India’s IT services and consulting firm Infosys has reported revenues of INR7485 crore (approximately $1.7bn) for the first quarter ended 30 June 2011, up 21.4% in dollar terms from INR6198 crore (approximately $1.4bn) in the same quarter previous year.
Cost of sales for the company was INR4577 crore in the quarter as compared to INR3648 crore for the same quarter previous year.
The company has recorded a gross profit of INR2908 crore in Q1 2011, up 14% compared to INR2550 crore in the same quarter in 2010.
The operating profit for the company has increased by 11% in Q1 2011 to INR1952 crore from INR1755 crore in the same quarter previous year.
Infosys has reported a net profit of INR1722 crore in the first quarter, up 15.7% from INR1488 crore in the same quarter 2010.
To the overall revenue in Q1 2011, financial services and insurance segment has contributed INR2648 crore; manufacturing enterprises INR1523 crore; energy, utilities, and telecommunications services INR1615 crore; and retail, logistics, consumer product group, life sciences and healthcare enterprises segment contributed INR1699 crore.
