CA Technologies has said that IT consulting and data center services provider StratITsphere will leverage its cloud computing, energy management and service assurance software for its new package of cloud-based services, Nimbus.

CA Technologies said Nimbus will be delivered on the CA AppLogic cloud platform and will support virtual private data centers (VPDC) and offer full failover and disaster recovery capabilities.

With the CA software, StratITsphere customers will receive efficient and secure data centre cloud services as well as help the latter meet the increasing demand for co-location and hosted cloud-based services.

The deal is expected to enable StratITsphere to provide new cloud offerings, manage new data centre with efficiency and with a lower capital investment than traditional computing offerings.

StratITsphere intends to employ CA ecoSoftware to help improve its power usage effectiveness (PUE) metric, and provide automatic billing to customers based on real energy use, instead of depending on error-prone estimates or time-consuming manual data collection.

The software also allows the company to proactively manage the performance and availability of the service delivery infrastructure, and to monitor the composition and behavior of network traffic in real-time.

StratITsphere will use CA Technologies Service Assurance portfolio, including CA eHealth Performance Manager, CA Spectrum Infrastructure Manager and CA NetQoS ReporterAnalyzer software.
