TELE DANMARK, NORSKE, TELECOM FINLAND IN CONCERT

By CBR Staff Writer

Deciding that as a commercial company, it didn’t want to get into bed with the French and German state-owned dinosaurs, and that AT&T Corp simply looked too daunting and dominant, Tele Danmark A/S has decided to join British Telecommunications Plc’s Concert party with MCI Communications Corp. Norway’s Norske Televerket and Telecom Finland Ltd are coming on board at the same time, and the partnership will focus on the entire Scandinavian market, including Sweden, where it will compete with Telia AB. I cannot give any forecasts, but we reckon that our earnings will be much better due to the alliance, director Ralf Egede Andersen said, adding that it would make it cheaper for Danish businesses to use Tele Danmark’s telecommunications services.
