NTT Communications and its Malaysian subsidiary, NTT MSC Sdn. Bhd have revealed that construction of the new Cyberjaya 3 Data Centre will commence in July this year and its commercial operation will begin by June 2012.
The Cyberjaya 3 Data Centre, to be located within Cyberjaya, Malaysia, will join NTT MSC’s Cyberjaya 1 and Cyberjaya 2 data centres to help meet the rising demand from Southeast Asian customers.
The company said Cyberjaya 3 will deliver high-speed, large-capacity Internet access through NTT Com’s global IP backbone and Arcstar Global IP-VPN, which will be supported with abundant POP available, enabling customers to directly connect to the backbone without access lines.
The facility will deliver full-time professional support for the management of networks and servers of the customers including multinational IT companies, financial institutions and other customers.
It will also feature redundant systems to offer commercial power supply, air conditioning redundancy, uninterruptible power supply, power generator and power distribution, and systems for fire and flood prevention.
Customers of the new data centre will also leverage its services when the Asia Submarine-cable Express connecting Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, the Philippines and Singapore commences in 2012.
NTT Com said the services of the new third data centre will comply with global organisations including the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the Uptime Institute (TUI) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
The company said the new centre is expected to be certified under Malaysia’s Green Building Index, as an environmentally friendly facility that employs renewable-energy technologies, including solar panels, double-walled structures for improved insulation and recycled rain water.
