The Theory Center at Cornell University in New York State has taken delivery of its 512-node IBM Corp System 9076 SP2 PowerParallel system: its 464 thin nodes – it doesn’t say whether these are Power or Power2-based – each have 128Mb RAM; some of the 48 wide nodes will have 8Gb disk on them and peak performance is estimated at 136 GFLOPS – calculated at 266 MFLOPS per node.
