Interphase Corp – through its wholly-owned French subsidiary, Synaptel SA – has announced the Syncard PCI ISDN/X.25 Adapter, providing ISDN Basic Rate Interface and leased line access for PCI-based servers and workstations. The new adapter is claimed to provide simultaneous access to ISDN, public or private packet switched networks and leased lines. It includes a Plug’N’Play installation routine, says the company: upon detection of the physical interface cable, the adapter automatically configures itself for V.24/V.28/RS232, V.11/RS422, X.21 or V.35 interfaces. Operating system support includes Windows NT 3.51 and OS/2 Warp. This adapter also provides wide area network access through Microsoft Corp’s SNA Server, RAS and TCP/IP, IBM Corp’ s OS/2 Communication Server and LAN Distance, and Synaptel Inc’s DLSw SNA-over-IP encapsulation software. Windows NT 4.0 support will be available by the end of the year, and additional operating system support will include AIX and Novell Inc NetWare. Priced at $1,590, the Syncard PCI ISDN/X.25 Adapter is available now.
